Work has continued a pace on site with some key project milestones having been achieved in the last week.

The first of these is the marking out and pouring of the foundations for Dan Do. As you will hopefully be aware the first phase of Dan Do will see the equivalent of 8 BR Mk1 undercover or two roads of 280 ft. This will mark a step change on the railway and will see the bulk of our carriage undercover for the first time in the railways history’s.

Elsewhere on the project work has been focused on the construction of the permeant access road. This has seen the final earth bank removed from the area that makes up the car park area.

The final milestone is the construction of the access off the A485. This has now reached the point where the base layer of tarmac has now been laid. This will continue throughout the week to bring the access road to the correct height.

From Easter 2023 this will be the main visitor entrance to the Gwili. Watch this space for further updates this week…

Cerrig Cyrb a Cherrig Milltir

Mae gwaith wedi parhau ar gyflymder ar y safle gyda rhai cerrig milltir allweddol y prosiect wedi’u cyrraedd yn ystod yr wythnos ddiwethaf.

Y ‘lôn’ ar yr ochr dde yn dangos cam 1 Dan Do

Y cyntaf o’r rhain yw marcio ac arllwys y sylfeini ar gyfer sied Dan Do. Fel y gwyddoch, gobeithio, bydd cam cyntaf prosiect Dan Do yn gyfwerth â 8 cerbyn Mk1 Rheilffyrdd Prydeinig neu ddwy ffordd 280 troedfedd dan do mewn sied newydd. Bydd hyn yn gam sylweddol i’r rheilffordd gan bydd y rhan fwyaf o’n cerbydau dan do am y tro cyntaf yn ein hanes.

Mewn mannau eraill mae’r gwaith prosiect wedi canolbwyntio ar adeiladu’r ffordd parhaol i mewn i’r safle. Mae’r clawdd pridd olaf yn cael ei dynnu o’r maes parcio newydd.

Mae’r safle gyn ddangos bod y prif faes parcio bellach yn wastad.

Y garreg filltir olaf yw adeiladu’r fynedfa oddi ar yr A485. Erbyn hyn mae’r haen sylfaen o darmac wedi’i gosod. Bydd y gwaith hyn yn parhau drwy gydol yr wythnos i ddod â’r ffordd fynediad i’r uchder cywir.
