Work continues apace at Abergwili.
The first bit of good news is that the at the end of December the railway purchased a new road rail vehicle. This was delivered to us in the second week of January and was pressed in to service straight away. We are grateful to Quattro for the help and advice in sourcing the new machine.

This week has seen work focus on laying out and forming the car parking areas. This was done by using reclaimed timber, which were rescued from the old Loughor viaduct, when it was replaced by NR in 2014.

With the delivery of the buildings last week, you can start to get a feel for what will greet passenger once the site is open. This area will have outdoor seating to allow passenger to enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching the trains come and go.
Elsewhere on site a start has been made on installing the necessary fencing. This will be a mixture of GWR spear fencing and post and wire.
A good start has been made with five panels installed over the weekend.
The final bit of good news is after an extensive tender process we have now awarded the contract for the construction of the Dan Do Carriage shed. Steelwork is now on order and site work is due to commence by the early summer.
